Tom serves as the Chief Marketing Officer of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin where he oversees the firm's marketing initiatives as well as client development and client relationships. Tom is also a past member of the firm's Board of Directors.
For a considerable number of years, Tom served as Chair of the firm's Workers' Compensation Department. His involvement in the workers' compensation area is quite extensive, and he has served as an adjunct professor of law for the Temple University Beasley School of Law where he taught Pennsylvania workers' compensation practice and procedure. As well, Tom previously served as co-chair of the Workers' Compensation Sections of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Philadelphia Bar Association. Tom is widely published in the area of his concentration with over 40 articles appearing in legal and business publications, several chapter contributions, and was editor-in-chief of a three-volume treatise on workers' compensation entitled Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation and Occupational Disease published by George T. Bisel Company, Philadelphia, PA.
His numerous memberships have included the Philadelphia Committee of Seventy, a highly regarded organization whose focus is ensuring fair elections and improvement of city governance. He served on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry and was privileged to serve on the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania. From 1998 to 1999, Tom served as President of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, one of the largest state defense organizations in the country. From 1997 through 2000, Tom served on the Board of Directors of PCI Insurance, the insurance administrative arm of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry.
Tom is a 1967 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He was awarded his Juris Doctorate from the Temple University School of Law in 1973. His initial position out of law school was with the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. He subsequently moved into the private sector as an in-house attorney with Employers Insurance of Wausau where he was first introduced to his field of concentration, Pennsylvania workers' compensation law.
In 2005, 2006 and 2007, Tom was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in the area of workers' compensation, and he has also been named as a member of Best Lawyers in America.
