As a member of the Professional Liability Department, Michelle concentrates a large portion of her practice to FDCPA/FCCPA cases, breach of contract claims, condominium association disputes, and general liability cases. She has handled cases based on a wide variety of liability theories, including general negligence, premises liability, breach of contract, medical malpractice, negligent hiring and retention, and health and disability insurance coverage disputes.
Michelle has worked with general counsel of clientele, risk managers, insurers, third party administrators, and health care professionals in representing managed care clients in insurance coverage disputes, contract disputes, ERISA cases involving group and individual polices of health and disability insurance, and medical malpractice actions in state and federal court and arbitration proceedings. Michelle has also handled several cases brought against behavioral health provider clients with matters concerning general negligence, negligent hiring and retention, premises liability, breach of contract, civil rights litigation, injunctions for repeat violence, and matters relating to agency and sovereign immunity.
In 1997, Michelle earned her undergraduate degree from University of Florida and subsequently earned her Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2000. In addition, Michelle holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Florida, which she earned in 2006.
Michelle joined the firm's Fort Lauderdale office in 2008. She is admitted to practice in Florida state courts and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
