Laurie handles a variety of matters in the areas of premises, products, and motor vehicle liability, with a particular emphasis in theme/amusement park litigation. She has represented a wide array of clients including a local motocross facility, go-kart facility, theme park, multi-county fair, roller skating rinks, and an ice skating rink . Laurie has also had a great deal of involvement in the drafting of liability releases for recreational and sporting events.

Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey in 2002, Laurie practiced in Rochester, New York, with the law firm of Osborn, Reed & Burke, LLP. She practiced in defense litigation, concentrating in the areas of premises liability, product liability (particularly asbestos litigation), school law, and medical malpractice. She relocated to Orlando, Florida, in 2001 and joined the law firm of Wicker Smith, where she gained litigation experience in the areas of medical malpractice and nursing home defense.

Summary judgment granted in three premises liability cases based upon liability releases executed by the plaintiff.

Summary judgment granted in three premises liability cases on the basis the condition at issue was open and obvious and that the plaintiffs had failed to produce any evidence of a dangerous condition on the premises.

Defended premises liability case with economic damages exceeding $200K that was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff two weeks before trial after having conducted extensive discovery, including surveillance of the plaintiff, all of which revealed evidence of fraud by the plaintiff.
